Berdemjan’s Journey to the Homeland

Even though every day we live amid layer upon layer of hardship, longings we cannot find words to describe, and weariness, in the deepest layers of our hearts the hope of being reunited with our native land and our kin always burns brightly.

We have put into words the moments of first reunion with the motherland of our Uyghur children, who were born in exile and, though they have never seen the homeland, live with the same love for it and the same hope as we do... Perhaps those feelings are too deep to be expressed in writing and too beautiful to be described in words. Even so, we are overjoyed to be able to present a small heartfelt gift to our bright Uyghur children on the occasion of «Mother Language Day».
